How I Review Books

Every book that I review is one that I read all the way through, or at least tried to read all the way through. I try to be completely honest in all my reviews and I am not being paid by authors or companies to do any of them. I'm just a girl who goes to the library, says "Oh! This looks like a good book!", and then I take it home with me. Some are duds and others are gems, its kinda like the lottery. I also kinda go everywhere with my reviews. This means that I review Children's Chapter Books, Young Adult Books and Adult Books. 

Ratings:
My "Ratings" are done on a ten out of ten scale. I chose this type of scale because it gives me more number to play with then a five out of five. One is the worst and ten is the best on this scale. I dock points for various reasons:

• I don't like the way the author treats a character
•  The plot just did not work for me
• To many plot holes
• etc. etc.

Content Ratings:
My "Content Ratings"are meant to show how clean the book is. There are also some terms that I use to show how clean a book is. They are:
Teen Romance: means teens are making out or engaging in sexual activity
Teen Partying:  alcohol is involved 
Kissing: means that characters kiss once or twice but not full on make out sessions

I also break up the Content Ratings into four levels:

• 1: ages 8-120. This means that the book is rather clean and I feel that it could be enjoyed by people in a rather large age group. 
•  2: ages 12-18. This means that there is content a little to advances for younger readers. This could be some violence, kissing, or confusing scenes.
• 3: ages 16-18. This means that the book contains language, teen romance, and/or teen partying. 
• 4: ages 18+. This rating is reserved for books that are obviously meant for adults from the content. So adult romance, language, partying etc. etc. 

If you feel that a book should receive a higher content rating don't be afraid to let me know! What I think not to be a big deal might to one of my readers and I will gladly change a rating if three people ask me to. :)
