Dream a Little Dream (Book 1 of the Silver Trilogy) by Kerstin Gier

Summary:
"Mysterious doors with lizard-head knobs. Talking stone statues. A crazy girl with a hatchet. Yes, Liv's dreams have been pretty weird lately. Especially the one where she's in a graveyard at night, watching four boys conduct dark magic rituals.
The strangest part is that Liv recognizes the boys in her dream. They're classmates from her new school in London, the school where she's starting over because her mom has moved them to a new country (again). But what's really scaring Liv is that the dream boys seem to know things about her in real life, things they couldn't possibly know--unless they actually are in her dreams? Luckily, Liv never could resist a good mystery, and all four of those boys are pretty cute..."

This book was a pleasant surprise, a hidden gem of sorts. From the description and the cover art (specially the red rose petals) I tottally assumed that it was an Alice in Wonderland retelling. This book however was not an Alice in Wonderland retelling. It was tottally a new and unique concept! Gier s a German author and so all her books that are here in the States have been translated from German to English (Hence the fact that there are one or two phrasing issues in this book). The main character in this book, Olivia (Vi for short), is one of my new favorites. She is super snarky and sarcastic making the reader feel as if you are actually reading her mind as the story unfolds. This is the best first person point of view book that I have ever read. I am so excited to read more books by this author!

Rating: 10 out of 10. The main character is amazing, the story is amazing, and so is the cover art!

Content Rating: 3 (16-18). I gave it this rating because of the party in it, the dark magic in it (summoning a demon), a few instances of kissing, and attempted murder.
