A Kiss in Time by Alex Flinn

Summary:
"Talia fell under a spell . . . . Jack broke the curse.
I was told to beware the accursed spindle, but it was so enchanting, so hypnotic. . . .
I was looking for a little adventure the day I ditched my tour group. But finding a comatose town, with a hot-looking chick asleep in it, was so not what I had in mind.
I awakened in the same place but in another time—to a stranger's soft kiss.
I couldn't help kissing her. Sometimes you just have to kiss someone. I didn't know this would happen.
Now I am in dire trouble because my father, the king, says I have brought ruin upon our country. I have no choice but to run away with this commoner!
Now I'm stuck with a bratty princess and a trunk full of her jewels. . . . The good news: My parents will freak!
Think you have dating issues? Try locking lips with a snoozing stunner who turns out to be 316 years old. Can a kiss transcend all—even time?"

This book is based off of the Sleeping Beauty fairy tale, and like Alex Flinn's other fairy tales it is told in modern times. Talia is a very interesting version of Aurora, she was very snobby at first in this book but I began to like her as a character as the book went on. Jack played the roll of Prince Charming perfectly in this story. I think it was weird that he seemed rather unfazed about bringing this random girl home with him, but the story still turned out really good. It was fun to watch Talia adjust to modern life, and Jack try to adjust to Talia's different upbringing. This love story was just a fun book to read! Some moments kept me on the edge of my seat and I loved the message at the end of the book: you can and should forgive everyone no matter what happens. This novel is told from both Talia's and Jack's point of views so it's easy to see where both characters are coming from with their thoughts.

Rating: 9 out of 10. I think Jack's character was a little lacking? I mean what boy would just kiss this random girl he finds in a castle and then bring said girl home with him just because she tells him to.

Content Rating: 2 (12-18). There are a few instances of kissing, and a party where alcohol is involved. This book was very clean though, and fits in this age group because some concepts would be difficult for younger readers to understand.
